Reading the C# language specification
I've beeen reading the C# language specification for what feels like a month now. It's useful, and I've learned or remembered a lot from reading it, but the section on definite assignment could have put me into a coma. "The definite assignment state of v before blah-foo is definitely assigned if and only if the state of v after blah-bar is definitely assigned." Ugh.
I've resolved to get comfortable with VB.NET over the next few months, but I haven't been able to find its language specification as a Word document or PDF, just HTML on MSDN, so I might skip reading it.
Update: The Visual Basic .NET language specification as a Word document. Thanks Paul!
