Quick update on consulting life
I haven't done any egotistical bandwagon jumping in a while.
Since becoming a consultant, I've:
- Flown from Toronto to Halifax and back 12 times.
- Flown from Toronto to Seattle, by way of Denver, and back once.
- Been delayed, missed my flight, been upgraded to Executive Class, and been upgraded to Economy Plus, once each.
- Read 12 novels. Most recently:
- Alex Garland, The Coma
- John le Carre, The Constant Gardener
- Joy Williams, The Quick and the Dead
- Kurt Vonnegut, Slaughterhouse-Five
- Mark Haddon, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
- Sebastien Japrisot, A Very Long Engagement
- Mario Vargas Llosa, The Way to Paradise
- Completed 80 hours of training.
- Passed Exam 070-315: Developing and Implementing Web Applications with Microsoft Visual C# .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET.
- Replaced my unfortunate laptop with a much better laptop.
- Drunk more red wine than ever before.
- Started working out.
- Made a concerted effort to expand my musical comfort zone. Most recently:
- Worked on the weekend only once.
- Posted 0 useful articles on my blog, including this one.
